Plumbing contractors who offer water conserving products will attract more customers.
According to David Crawford, president of Rainwater Management Solutions, there is an increased interest in water saving in California and Texas.
“People are becoming more conscious of this, and as prices do go up, the contractors that offer water conservation and energy efficient products will be drawing more people than the guy that has been doing the same thing for the past 20 years,” Crawford said.

Low-flow products benefit contractors by saving your clients water — and they have the potential to qualify contractors for rebates.
Low flow shower heads focus the water spray through the manipulation of the size and direction of the drops of water. The shape and size of the holes in water-saving shower heads result in water droplets that angle towards the user rather than around them, like standard shower heads tend to.
This conserves water by delivering the same amount of water as a regular shower would in a longer period of time. Standard shower heads use 3.5 gallons of water per minute, while low flow shower heads use about 2 gallons per minute (gpm.)
This might not seem like a huge difference — until you do the math.
If you took a ten-minute shower every day for a year, using a low flow shower head would help you save 5,475 gallons of water — and if you live in areas that suffer from droughts or dry spells, that difference is even more meaningful.
“Low flow” doesn’t mean “low pressure.”
